Final presentation

Today was my last meeting with my advisor for the semester. It was really nice to present all of the work I have done to date and see it together as a whole. I am really happy with the amount of work I got done this semester and really happy with how much I have learned. I am really lucky to have an advisor who is a great teacher and is excited to share everything he knows. I do not think City Farm would be where it is now, without all of his help, insight and suggestions.

Although I have gotten a lot done quantity wise, I still have a lot to do with the quality. This is not a new discovery, it is exactly where I knew I would be at the end of the semester. The way I usually work is to hash out all the thinking and renderings before I dive into the details. I usually get clouded by the amount of work and I have a hard time just having fun with the design. So, once the bulk of the work is done I can more easily see the areas that need improvements and I have more of an open mind, which makes refining easier/better. I hope with time this process become quicker so I can present more refined ideas early on, rather than semi-okay mock ups. Something to work on. Discovery is the first step. :)

The rest of this week is being taken over with an insane amount of work for my other class, so I won't have time to touch City Farm till later in the week/next week. I am not in much of a rush really, but I do need to self-critique, refine and gather materials so I can begin my summer work on time. I plan to give myself a 1/2 week off, then work at a slow pace the rest of the week before I dive back in. I am getting pretty burnt out and I need a mental vacation even if it is just for a few days.

Now off to get back into binding 8 books for my Identity class. My poor fingers may fall off from all the cutting/sewing, but I really love binding books so it should be fun! I should take pictures of the mess my apartment is. I have taken over pretty much every inch of our place with binding materials and a photography station that used to be our table. I love the creative mess, but I do look forward to being able to walk around easily again.

Here is all of the work that was done the past 14 weeks.
