Awesome week! I love seeing everything come together. Every time I finish a piece or get something in the mail that I have ordered, is a step closer to seeing what has been in my head these past couple years. It is so worth all of the time spent pulling this all together.
When I finished the produce and shopping bags, I was so excited I wanted to start using them. I am just worried I will mess them up before I get them photographed. The menu I had printed on wood, came out perfect too. I forgot to put a white ink layer behind the artwork, which keeps it from blending into the wood, but I am glad I didn’t do it. It blends in the perfect amount and really fits my branding well. I also decided that instead of nailing the changeable menu to the board, I will print them on wood and hang them from hook screws. It is going to be so much better than the paper. I’m really good at spending money on prints I can’t afford. Oops.
After I got a typewriter from my husband for a birthday gift I decided to use actual typewritten letter instead of the typeface. I did a test and the letters fill in and smudge too much. So I am ordering new ribbon and hoping to get the letters cleaned out, so they punch clearer. Fingers crossed.
I also got my final round of the first set of sketches from my illustrator, Joe
(he rocks). They came out fantastic and it is so nice to see the building all drawn up. Every trip I make down to City Hall now is making me wish I could see City Farm there instead. The details Joe added and the ideas he had for the space, were awesome. I can’t wait to get them water colored in.
I was away on vacation last week, so I assume I will be working at a slow pace tonight. It i hard to get back into work, let alone work AND homework. But it is all fun, so I should be back at full speed tomorrow.
